iCareCard Features and Benefits

ü Payment convenience, safety and control:  No need to carry a checkbook or large sums of cash when you shop.  Plus YOU manage your OWN daily and weekly spending limits – automatically – a great budgeting tool.  Set your own text or email balance and transaction notifications to know who-what-when-where your card(s) being used.  Phone balance inquiries 24/7.

ü Affordable:  Compare the $9.95 one time cost to other debit cards that require a bigger deposit to open or existing cards that cost more either monthly or more (higher) fees.  No reload, transaction or monthly fees.  ATM fees for bank atm transactions only.  Can be used as “cash back” card at many merchant locations nationwide with no transaction cost.

ü Reloadable:  or "How does money get into my account?"  Set your checking account to fund your iCareCard and forget it….it's all automatic. You can reload based on a low balance setting OR you can set a specified amount each week! Great for saving money in your main checking account for savings, retirement...or for a rainy day.  PLUS it provides a great tool for teaching kids to manage money.

ü Wide acceptance:  Debit cards are more widely accepted than checks, making them perfect for travel.  Pay your bills or make purchases anywhere Visa is accepted.

ü More uses:  Get additional cards for family members, control their limits and manage their spending limits and get email updates for individual cards...all at your convenience.  iCareCard debit cards can be used by employers, schools, merchant associations, nonprofits and other organizations to pay employees, provide rewards or raise money.

ü Easier qualification:  Since debit cards use your own money, not your credit, they're often easier to get than credit cards.

ü Spend only what you can afford:  Since credit cards allow you to spend more, and cost interest, they can be expensive.

ü Security:  Even if you lose a debit card, it can’t be used without a pin number, and if it’s used with a signature, your bank will refund your losses (see your banks rules regarding security).  iCareCard is an additional layer of security and does not allow un-authorized access to your checking account under any circumstances.

ü Keep Your Current Bank: No need to change banks, your account is funded from your current checking account, or by a 3rd party, such as your employer.

ü Donate and Help:  Cash contributions made to  your favorite cause at no cost to you by merchants that you also share in (with DebitDeals).

ü Speed:  Debit cards are the fastest way to complete a transaction.

ü REWARDS:  Save BIG with merchant rebates – all cards are automatically enrolled in DebitDeals, PLUS get $.05 back anywhere you use an iCareCard for a purchase of $10 or more in the U.S.  Save your rewards for retirement, savings, college, healthcare or start a savings account that is funded automatically!

ü ONE Time Purchase:  No need to change banks.  Just use this debit card instead of your bank issued debit card. (Your bank issued debit card will still work...but you’ll save on overdraft and monthly card fees since there are none with iCareCard.)

ü Funds Insured by FDIC up to $250,000.

If you don't thing bank fees could cost you hundreds of dollars per year, guess again. It could be even worse in the near future.  According to the *Wall Street Journal Editorial on 10/10/11, bank fees for checking/debit card accounts could easily exceed $168 or more per year as banks look for more profits.

So, ask yourself if it makes sense to earn $50 or $200 or even hundreds a year to use debit card VERSUS PAYING hundreds a year  to use your debit card?  If your answer is what we think...you'll like the iCareCard

Does online bill payment have you "locked in" with your bank?  Moving your online payments is a hassle, so DON'T MOVE them.  You don't have to.   It's the monthly debit card fees that hurt.   Your bank debit card used to be mandatory...not any longer.

Are Big Banks Justified in Charging More For Debit Card Use of Its Account Holders?

Recent regulatory changes (Durbin) are said to affect the profitability of debit cards, but according to Norma Garcia, manager of Consumers Union's financial services program, banks are charging you more for debit transactions because they have been losing money.  Is it possible that those same banks could have reconsidered giving their executives big raises this year?

(See this link.  Even the President criticizes the banks in the ABC News interview on October 4, for taking advantage of it’s account holders)

Besides leaving consumers infuriated, the debit card fees have also drawn the wrath of the White House, with President Obama warning that customers should not be “mistreated” in pursuit of profit, while Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. characterized moves to hit consumers with new charges “incredibly tone deaf.” Senator Richard J. Durbin of Illinois, the No. 2 Senate Democrat, took the unusual step of denouncing Bank of America on the Senate floor, urging customers to “vote with your feet, get the heck out of that bank.”

Are There Reasons to Worry About My Big Bank’s Security?  In a Word, YES!

It didn’t used to be this way…but hackers are more efficient than ever figuring out how to get into your account. They can use a blank check or your bank issued debit card information to clean your account out. With an iCareCard your "main" bank account is secure since there is no way to access via an iCareCard.

At the point-of-sale, merchants are getting hit pretty hard.  Because US banks and merchants refuse to invest in card technology that includes (more secure) chip technology, the United States represents the biggest percentage – and growing – of bank card fraud worldwide.

Online shopping almost always requires the use of a branded card.  Online retailers have succeeded in adding new layers to protect themselves, and the cardholders by extension.  Because online retailers can take their good old time processing and mailing an order, they have the time to also assess whether the sale is legitimate.

Conclusion?  Any Way You Look at it, a branded spending card provides access to things and services you need and want and is a necessary tool of daily living.  So, why not take control and put a new layer of protection between you and the crooks?  What to do?  Get a debit card that is NOT directly “attached” to your checking account by your bank.  Get an iCareCard which is funded on a daily, weekly and monthly basis based upon YOUR decisions, and is not funded with every dollar you keep in your checking account.  Protect, keep and spend what’s yours safely…with an iCareCard.

MERCHANTS - IF YOU HAVE A SHOP, STORE, RESTAURANT OR SERVICE BUSINESS AND WOULD LIKE MORE CLIENTS - GOOD CLIENTS - CLIENTS THE LOCAL BANK SENDS YOU, CONSIDER REGISTERING TO "GIVE BACK" A SMALL PERCENTAGE OF A SALE THAT HELPS YOUR CUSTOMER, COMMUNITY AND LOCAL NON-PROFITS....CONTACT US TO ASK HOW OR CLICK ON THE LINKS PROVIDED FOR MORE INFORMATION...

Why “iCare”?  The iCareCard Makes Cents and Helps Your Community.  It could just be “my card” but that wouldn’t fit our mission – or yours either.  iCare means you care about your family spending – savings – security and simplicity.  Our simple mission is to help you and your family by not only including benefits for you, but to include your favorite cause and your community.

How?

The iCareCard debit card platform allows local banks and credit unions to also say “iCare”, by helping small, community, local merchants, shops and service providers who “give back” or “reward” a small percentage of a sale – in cash – that the bank’s cardholder’s (you) receive in return for shopping with local merchants.  The merchant gets the benefit of exposure to the local bank’s list of debit card holders (like you) at no up-front cost in return for their voluntary “give back”. National retailers and restaurants in your community and online have the opportunity to do this with national banks that don’t work with your local shops, so we made it possible.

We all care because the merchant funded reward (cash rebate) is shared by you and your local bank (to help them pay for the costs of the program) and with local non-profit causes in your community.

This unique program, called DebitDeals, at www.debitdeals.com, may not be active in your community yet, but we know that by including all the community members in a local loyalty program, as iCareCard does, and making DebitDeals and iCareCard available to you is important.  Our goal is for community advocates and activists to spread the word about the iCareCard and DebitDeals programs to other banks, nonprofits and consumers.   Imagine using “someone else’s money” to assist your church, school or another local cause that is important to you?

iCareCards can be used as employee payroll cards, with built-in benefits, as replacement cards for associations and have a multitude of other uses.  If you would like more information about a DebitDeals program in your community contact us.

With iCareCard and DebitDeals, you decide who you help and how much of your merchant loyalty “give back”, beyond a minimum of 10%, you want to share.

Your iCareCard sticks with you even if you change banks.  Just repeat the process of registering with a new checking (or savings) account with your existing iCareCard.  iCareCard is a card that you can keep for life, no matter where you live, bank or go to school.
